Wish you all a prosperous and happy new year 2010...
Let me introduce my friend Raghavan who has agreed to present his first poetic venture on my blog. He works in IBM Bangalore and is an avid reader of Kannada books. I request all of you to comment on his new adventure into the world of creative words. The meaning of the poem is also mentioned at the end by the poet:-).
In first stanza am describing a full moon night, and saying that stars are missing as they were enviously ashamed of beauty of the full moon.
Here comes my wife to the garden in front of my house, seeing this the moon hides itself among the clouds looking at her grace.
There comes a breeze, on which the ear rings of hers ruffle, and it seemed to me as star's came and whispered "thanks for teaching a good lesson to her(moon) who was wandering with pride."
sharath ruthu <- Intial winter season.( roughly oct-nov), in english we have only 4 seasons but in india we divide it as six season.
sharvari <- Night
manda maruthu <- Breeze
indhumathe <- Moon lit night, am using it as just moon
A good beginning from Raghavan. I wish him all the best for this venture and hope to see many more poems from him in the coming days... All the best..
